DAVID BENAVIDEZ CONTINUES TO BUILD HIS LEGACY: AGUA PLUS FIGHT NIGHT RECAP

NOVEMBER 28, 2023 – The Mexican Monster strikes again! David Benavidez has continued to convert fans and prove any remaining critics wrong following his TKO win against Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade this past Saturday November 25th. Benavidez defended his WBC super middleweight interim title in convincing fashion against the two-division champion Andrade at Michelob Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night. Immediately following the fight and in front of the cheering crowd, David exclaimed “I think I just solidified myself as the dominant performer that I am. And I think it was just a reminder to let everybody know who the real champion at 168 is. They want to see me vs Canelo and that’s what we want too! I’m the youngest super middleweight champion in the world, 3 time world champion, now just give me the fight that we all want to see!”

Viewed by millions worldwide on Showtime Pay-Per-View, Agua Plus was front and center all week in the leadup to the much anticipated fight as Team Benavidez traveled everywhere looking like an Agua Plus army! The fight garnered world-wide attention as two-fighters that many others have ducked came face-to-face. Even those who don’t follow boxing closely would have had a difficult time missing the massive media coverage by the likes of Showtime Boxing, ESPN Ringside, Premier Boxing and one of David’s biggest fans, the legendary Mike Tyson. Even legendary coach Freddie Roach was sharing the Benavidez love! These small handful of Instagram Reels represent over 6 million views just by themselves, not to mention the thousands of other posts from media and fans; all prominently featuring the Agua Plus brand.

The show-stopping performance included David delivering an instantly iconic right hand sending Andrade to the mat at the end of the fourth round, ultimately stopping him after the 6th with a TKO win against the formerly undefeated two-division champion. Humble in victory, Benavidez hugged his opponent Andrade and thanked him for the opportunity. Gracious in defeat, Andrade returned the gesture and complemented Benavidez on a great fight. Both fighters set the example of what it means to carry yourself like a champion. 

Jose Benavidez Jr also put on an incredible performance, going toe-to-toe for all 10 rounds with Jermall Charlo in the co-main event of the night. Although Charlo ultimately won the fight by unanimous decision, Jose Jr truly made it a fight to remember with his unique warrior spirit on full display. 

“We didn’t get the W but that’s okay. I’ll be back better and stronger.” said Jose Jr. “I’m a warrior and will never give up.”

Both Benavidez brothers and their entire teams were decked out in eye-catching Agua Plus branded boxing outfits, designed and hand-made by the world’s number one boxing designer “I Got My Own Back”. The entire team, led by long-time trainer and father of both boys Jose Benavidez Sr, made an impression everywhere they went. Trained by his father and continually sparring with his brother Jose Jr, David thanked them for constantly pushing him to be his best, adding that he couldn’t do it without them.
